TRAIN YOUR HEART TO BEND, NOT TO BREAK
Who´s In Charge?
We have been led to believe that media totally governs us and that we are powerless when it comes to being heard in any form other than molded by media.
That, to my great joy, is not entirely true ! !
We, and I mean many of us, as was evident during the Arab Spring and other structural changes, were a strong factor by opinion building on the social networks, mobile apps, YouTube and so forth. Suddenly we were presented with unedited material until it was hurriedly removed if regarded as uncomfortable for the media oligarchs only to pop up in another net context and virtually impossible to erase.
Facebook is a stunning indicator of how we are feeling collectively on an almost weekly basis. We have seen how all the cute are heart warming pictures of baby animals have had a comforting impact in horrible and threatening times, when it is easier to let your heart out to an animal than to other humans beings because we have become increasingly afraid of each other.
The last two weeks the animal factor has been upgraded dramatically. Facebook is crowded with video clips of people saving the lives of animal ranging from giving CPR to a wood pecker to cuddling a grieving elephant baby or consoling a terrified turkey. To me, this is a very distinct indication on how serious we think things are and how, subconsciously or consciously are preparing ourselves for a rough ride and encouraging each other by pointing at compassion, agape and courage.
I, for one, am encouraged and daily reminded that I am still counting and and can, one way or another, reach out to help.
Happy Valentine ! Train you heart to bend, not to break, dear friends !
